What's new? Subdomains!

Your new posterous will now show up at [[yourusername]].posterous.com. All old URLs will be forwarded. Is this awesome? Answer: Yes.

This of course required some pretty big changes to how we do routing, so let me know if there are any particular things that look weird or are broken now.

Patrick is right, did the username function go away? The subdomains are a big improvement, though. Go blogmasters!

What are the primary beneits of subdomains (username.posterous.com) over posterous.com/username? Are posts more likely to be indexed by google when they live under a subdmain vs. posterous's main domain?

yes, we support custom subdomains. See http://posterous.com/help/custom_domain

yes but now my subdomains www.blog.greencosmos.biz and blog.greencosmos.biz redirect to the posterous.com page instead of my greencosmos.posterous.com page.

Answered it myself.....I didn't realize that nickname means user name. Rock on!
