New Feature: Use Feedburner to track your feed

We made it really easy to use Feedburner to get analytics about who's reading your feed. Just burn your Posterous RSS feed and add the new Feedburner feed address to your site and you're off.

Grab the address from Feedburner:

Then add it to your site settings:

The next time you go to your site the feed icon will link to your Feedburner feed! You can find more setup instruction in our help section.

How about opening this up to all third party RSS stats services, like feedblitz (www.feedblitz.com/rssfaq.asp)? Blogger, another Google service, allows you to choose any third party service - not just FeedBurner.

Very easy to setup and very useful. Thanks!

one question though, does it work also when you have already customized your posterous with your own url? like with our blog blog.appsfire.com?

Feedburner integration was the number one thing I wanted to see Posterous add. You're awesome!

@AppsFire Yes, it should work fine with using Posterous on a custom domain.

Now if we could see the number of rss subscribers in the manage section or user profile on posterous. Do not know if it is possible.

Great, I had been waiting for this! Custom domains, feeds and analytics are making it easier to switch to Posterous. I hate to sound like a broken record, but some CSS control would certainly seal the deal :)

hey guys! I have a question not related to this topic, but about posterous.

Can I autopost my tweets to posterous? Is there any way? If not, are you gonna add it in the future?
Thanks a lot!

Are there any plans to add support for feedburner's MyBrand feature?

This is great, but doesn't allow us to use the FeedBurner MyBrand service (i.e. have the RSS feed be http://feeds.mydomain.com/xyz/rss)
Sep 01, 2009
I integrated Feedburner, and THEN moved my Posterous to my own subdomain. Will the feedburner feed still work or do I need to set it up again?
Sep 01, 2009
It's cool. I add my posterous feed to feedburner. You're welcome http://feeds.feedburner.com/X0x04patPosterous

Is there any chance to use this with Feedburner MyBrand (http://feedburner.google.com/fb/a/mybrand) activated? I want to enter my own Feedburner link (http://feed.renefischer.ws/streamingminds) but Posterous doesn't accept that URI :-(

+1 for the MyBrand service. Would really like to be able to customise the whole url, not just the last part. Thanks so much for your continued improvements.

So now Posterous is PubSubHubbub enabled via Feedburner! Cool. One thing though, could you automatically do so all that already subscribed to the original feed will be converted to feedburner subscribers? Blogger is doing that, so maybe you can do the same?

I've been waiting for this feature since switching to Posterous from Tumblr. This was the easiest setup of Feedburner I've done, and it works perfectly. Thanks for this!

Thanks everyone for the FeedBurner MyBrand suggestions. We'll have to look into that. It looks like you can still use the feed (because MyBrand feeds have a feeds.feedburner.com equivalent), though I realize it's not the same.

Absolutely awesome! You guys are doing a fantastic job with Posterous, keep it up. I aspire to create a startup as fast moving as yours :)

Thanks for Posterous. I've just made the move and I'm loving it.

Is there a possibility that Feedburner stats + Posterous subscribers could be displayed on our Profile pages? I know if people turn on the FeedCount setting in the Publicize section of Feedburner, that it's then a simple call to get the latest subscriber number.

Mine is not working. :( Feedburner says filesize over 512k, and I have no clue how to fix this. Used to work perfectly with my Squarespace account. Anyone?
