Posterous is interviewed on DownloadSquad.com

We met Chris Ullrich at SXSW a few weeks ago, and it was great talking to him about how Posterous got started and where we are headed.

Cool to know more about the story of Posterous. When are the themes coming out?

Nice interview. Congrats Gary and Sachin.

Regarding themes: I know this sounds crazy but I actually like that Posterous doesn't have themes. I like the minimalism of it all. But I can see how people want theming. I would like to be able edit the sidebar though. I'm seriously considering moving my main WordPress blog over to Posterous because it's just so simple and easy to use.

G&S, you are Apple guys to the heart, so remember that much of what Apple is now was due to typography ! I have seen the latest Tumblr templates and 99% of them are just awful. The basic Tumblr layout was gorgeours, with the large icons and clean white spaces. It looked like something new, a breath of fresh air compared to crowded, complicated Wordpress, blogger layouts we see around. Microblogging looks should reflect the quick, vibrant and fresh quality of the whole short message pardigm. Unfortunately, now Tumblr and old blogs look the same.
I don't know how you could do it, but maybe a previous selection on the new templates would be fine. And please, please, keep the default with the minimalist, clean templates ! Imagine what Leopard OSX would look like today without Steve controlling the looks !
Great success for you, your idea rocks. If you sell shares, I would buy them right now.
