New on Posterous: Autopost to Flickr and Twitter

You know what I hate? Having to upload photos or post things to multiple places. Starting now, you won't have to anymore. Posterous now supports automatically posting updates about your new posts to twitter, AND photo attachments to flickr. Send as many flickr photos as you like in one email attachment, we'll just drop them right into your photostream. Don't worry about mini-fying your posterous URL's anymore, we take care of that for you and just post with the first 130 characters of your subject line.

This is just the first in a series of push-your-stuff-everywhere features that we've got in store for you in the weeks ahead. We think email is at once so simple and so powerful that you should be able to use posterous to post everywhere.

Want to get started? Click "Autopost to Elsewhere" in the right sidebar on your Manage page. Thanks for using posterous.

The reason your photos weren't turned into a gallery is because there is text between them. Usually we are able to detect if this text is just the filename and nothing interesting, but it didn't work in your case. We're working on fixing that right now.

To get your photos to turn into a gallery, simple send them with no text between. It looks like your photos came out of iPhoto. What you need to do is when you hit the 'email' button in iPhoto, make sure you unselect "send title" and "send description" so that iPhoto doesn't include those in the email.

Email me if you have any other problems here. sachin@posterous.com. Thanks!

Hi guys, I've tried two times:

Posterous: http://ivanlanin.posterous.com/
Flickr: http://flickr.com/photos/ivanlanin

Twitter works fine, but the photos didn't show up in flickr. Any suggestion?

Thx, Ivan

Thank you for the quick reply on the photo's not going gallery. I am going to delete the original post, and resend to try it out. Thanks

As for Ivan's comment, I have had similar problems with Flickr. I had 2 of my photo's uploaded, not the other 3?

Hello all. We identified an issue which caused some photos to not be uploaded to flickr. We've taken care of this now and hopefully things are fine. Please let us know if you see further issues.

Thanks!

This is very cool but I'd to have control over which posts get mirrored on Flickr and Twitter. For instance, I don't want URLs to my photos being posted on Twitter but I do want my snarky one-liners there.

Hey Tony -- control over where posts go makes sense. We're working on adding that very soon. Thanks for the suggestion -- absolutely makes sense and it's something we want ourselves too.

Hey everyone. Thanks for the feedback. We agree you should control where your content is published, so we just added that functionality!

I'm late to the party (I'm rather behind in my feedreader), but this is an awesome feature. I was recently thinking about writing an export to flickr script, like my export to livejournal script, but you guys beat me to it. =]
