New: More control over autopost

We've been getting a ton of requests for this, so here you go. You can now autopost your Posterous posts to other sites right from the post page itself. Simply click the "Post to elsewhere" button on your post's page, and then click where you want the post sent.

This enables you to post via posterous@posterous.com, so it's not automatically autoposted, check the post online, edit it, get it just right, and then autopost it when you are ready. This also means if you have multiple blogs setup with Posterous, you can choose to post to just one of those.

Finally, when you create a new post on the website itself, there's an option under "More options" that lets you disable autopost for that post.

@amudi currently all posts get posted to your posterous site as well as all your external sites. There is no way to disable this. Thanks.

Excellent, I have been waiting for this. I usually just try to edit it really really really fast before people click on it from Twitter :P

Posterous is quickly shaping up to be a convenient alternative to the wordpress GUI.  Keep up the great work!

guys, I think you've introduced a bug somewhere during the process.
Now, each time I send an email to posterous@posterous.com I get 2 confirmation emails and the post is double-posted in my posterous.
I've mailed help@posterous.com as well.

Love it, love it, love it. Buuuut, I really want to set up both my wordpress blogs and specify in the email address which I'm posting to. Single posterous, divided across two blogs. And yes, I could put one of them on tumblr to make this easier, but for unrelated reasons I can't.

So: yay, this is great. But: please make multiple blog support happen. I know it's on your to-do list. I'm just, you know, saying I'll use it!

@ravcasleygera Yeah you can't specify different blogs in the email address. We'll work on a solution here. For now you can post via posterous@posterous.com so that it doesn't autopost, and then use the new autopost controls that are in the sidebar of the post http://blog.posterous.com/more-control-over-autopost
