Mini-feature: Auto-embed Flickr sets and tags

Hey guys... still got a bunch of bigger things in the pipe you'll hear about soon, but wanted to let you know that now you can easily embed Flickr sets and tags. Just paste the URL, e.g. from the address bar:

into a post or an email, and you'll automatically get the Flickr embedded slideshow, shown below. (Gallery courtesy razorbern aka Bernie DeChant, a personal flickr favorite, and one of the most talented photographers I have ever met.)

This works for tag pages too! If you're a flickr user, give it a try by emailing post@posterous.com now.

Got a URL or online embed you'd like auto-expanded? Fire us a note at help@posterous.com. We want to make it brain-dead simple to post everything you could possibly think of.

I currently use the flickr API to grab the set and provide HTML for Posterous ... See here http://j.mp/4bt1Kw this displays on an iPhone. Maybe Posterous could embed like this in the future.

That's a great feature! Is there a way to modify existing posts that contain links to flickr sets?

Great! But tell me please: how do i post just a *single* flickr-photo? Emailing the url of a single pic doesn't post the pic but the url!

It's cool, it's simple, it works. Probably a definition of Posterous.

Does this function exist for Picasa yet? If not, will it? Thanks for the continued great work.

Love the feature.. Is there any reason that my Flickr photostream isn't available? Also it would be great if SOME link was left when the feed is generated.. right now I get no indication that a flickr embed is even available on the page. The same issue occurs on other expanded URLs (Youtube, Vimeo etc) that are not generated via the bookmarklet.

Keep up the great work..

Excellent feature. Now the reverse: I'd like my posterous galleries+tags be posted to flickr as a set with name from posterous post title and tags from posterous post. :-)

Agree this is cool -- and I was also hoping this might be useful for posting a flickr set to my blog ... but I haven't found out whether / how that might work. Alternatively, could you create a posterous set (i.e. the list of thumbnails to click on) + then link to the individual photos on flickr.com ?

Surprise, surprise, again.
I haven't had a flickr account yet, don't know why, but it's high time to get one now!
Thanks, Garry!
