A new rich text editor

Here's a quick mini-update. We've revamped our rich text editor with a new streamlined version that should make things simpler. If you haven't noticed, we also recently added a way to change the display date of your post if you click "More options" at the bottom of the body field.

As always, if you run into problems or just have feedback for us, send us email at help@posterous.com

Timezone coming soon, friends. We know that's an important one.

Do we have to set date/time format per post? Shouldn't this be a general setting? Or ideally: set a default blog-wide; change per post if necessary.

And while I like the new feature to be able to link in the editor, I miss the strike-through option.
And does the HTML editor pop-up really have to have a fake windows-style border? Makes my MBP sad ;)

Thanks for a new editor, but when is the UTF-8 support coming?
I don't think this "fake pop-up" for HTML edit is too helpful - I missed the point here.
Yeah, image (or any attachment upload / edit) would be nice... timezones even nicer :-)
BUT - Hey, thanks for the linking feature :-) (not so much for the rest)

Tried again, this time with my browser window full-screen, which is all of 1680x1050; the HTML "edit" starts out at a reasonable size, then expands to way larger than that, going by the horizontal scrollbar some 20-30% outside even that wide-screen window. And no way to enter or edit text.

Then I tried to edit something with teh toolbar, wanting to turn something into a link - found I had to select some text first, before the link button became enabled. Then I clicked the button and a little box jumps up ... and remains just as empty as that HTML "edit" window.

PLEASE give us something where we can just edit the code!

Hi....How can i change the font style?

You can't change the font face at the moment, but we'll be adding additional features around theming and customization in the near future, which would allow you to update font face globally.

In your mail client right now, you can also set the font in your email that you send to us and that works too.

Thanks for using posterous.

Personally I prefer this plain and simple old school text editor:
